Indeed this is one of TC pain points. There is no such setting to decrease the footprint (we are running in the maximum optimality we are able to). Bear in mind that TC is coupled with a browser and that the application itself has a significant influence on the total footprint.

As a best practice we recommend to combine Web/HTTP and TC script to obtain the needed load. In most of the cases even 100 TC vusers can provide the relevant server's weak points.
