You can run the LR set-up and install Load Generator component on those two machines.
No additional license is required for Load Generators. Licenses are tied to controller and number of virtual users.
Memory footprint depends on the protocol you are using and nature of your application. Rich internet based applications may require larger memory.
In general, 2-machines with 4GB should support 300 user load.
