Java script not enabled in AUT during replay, but manually works fine.

Hi, I am working on a web application, so basically I go to browser and open the application using url: http://xxx.com/ and opens the chat application (this application opens in seperate window, which requires javascript). While recording, it recorded the chat application and its content while sending message.

But during replay, I am getting the attached screenshot in runtime viewer.

Before running the script, I had make sure that enabling javascript code (attached screenshot) in run time settings.

Please let me know what could went wrong during replay? As I could access the application manually perfectly fine.

Thanks,

Raj

Hi Devath

Check if the session was closed in both, the web server and the Citrix server.

If is possible share the recording and reply login part of the script to compare.

Hi Raj

As in help manual stated:

Enable running Javascript code. Yes—Enables running web Javascript steps, such as web_js_run() and web_js_reset(). No—Web Javascript steps can not be run.

With this option enabled you could add javascript function into the script (check here for more information).

Web protocol records the HTTP traffic between the browser and the server. To record/replay JavaScript you need to use a Click and Script Vuser like Ajax C&S or Ajax TruClient.

Conditional url calling

Hi

I am new to loadrunner (using version 11.52 VUserGen).

I am looking for a way to only call an URL is the URL is actually in the page.

Is this feasable? If so, which functions should I use to look-up if the specific link is available?

I am using AINSI C, and HTTP/HTML protocol.

Thank you

before you do run recording go to Record >> recording options then click on Recording on the left pane and select URL-based script then click OK...then proceed to do recording of your application

Hi

You could program a web_reg_fine (text check) like:

    int val1 = 1;

    val1 = web_reg_find("Search=Body",
        "Text=Images",
        LAST);

    if (val1 == 0)
        lr_output_message("Found");

< your code…>
    else
        lr_output_message("Not Found");

Attached example for Images on www.google.com page.

Hi

We really need the entire script information for this kind of issues. Basically we need to compare the recording and the replay information. Replay with extended log to see the information returned by the server. Sometimes the error is before of this function, is possible the server did not respond with the correct page, has a network delay or is not possible to access this page.

I suggest you enable extended log, replay again and check the information previously of this step for errors.

Hi,

Sorry for the late response. You should go into the services (services.msc) choose PC agent service.

In the Log On tab you shoud enter IUSR_METRO credentials. Here is an example (on an arbitrary service I chose):

Thanks.

Re: Vugen 11.52: Question on LoadRunner Vugen 11.52 trial download?

Regarding your question on the expiration of LoadRunner components, your answer can be found in the click-to-accept license agreement which was available during your software installation.   On a historical basis up to the Loadrunner 12 Community Edition, the license to use any and all LoadRunner components has been tied to the license of the controller.   So, technically when your controller license expired then your right to use any other component, from WinDIFF to VUGEN to Analysis also expired and you should either re-up your controller license or remove the components from your PC.

The trial license is intended just for that, an evaluation of the product.   If you need training, then training licenses are available for purchase.   if you need a production ( non evaluation and non training ) license then those are available as well.   You may convert an existing installed evaluation license to either a training or production license with the purchase and installation of a license key on the existing controller, good for a single installation of the tool on a specific host.

You can validate this independently by reading the click-to-accept license agreement which ships with your version of Loadrunner.

If  you want a non-expiring edition then may I refer you to the LoadRunner version 12 Community Edition.

This is incorrect using the click-to-accept license as a measurement of the answer in two categories.

1) This is an evaluation license, not a production one or a training one.

2) Your right to use expires with the controller.

If you want a non expiring license then see LR 12 Community edition

Vugen and Analysis will continue to work, however please examine the license agreement which comes with the version of LoadRunner you have installed.

1) On a historical basis all Loadrunner components are tied to the license of the controller.  When your right to use the controller is terminated, so then is your right to use the other LoadRunner components.

2) This is an evaluation license, not a production one or training one.   If the license is intended for anything other than training, then such a license should be acquired as a purchased item

Engage in ethical software pratices, read and follow the restrictions on your license....even if you don't agree with them...up to the time you have negotiated a license appropriate to your use model

I know there is no response on this topic since 2013. However I would like to know if you had the opportunity to do this test by yourself and if it worked ? (loadRunner 11.0 with BW applicaiton)

Thanks in advance.

Re: Script recording through earlier record engine is feasible?

Hi,

“Old recording engine” is not available in the latest LoadRunner versions since we have better recording methods like “proxy recording” now. For more information about proxy recording which is available starting from LoadRunner 11.52, please review:

1. http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/LoadRunner-Support-Customer/Proxy-Recording-with-LoadRunner-11-52/td-p/6304007#.U4ceOXft7Sh

2. http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/HP-LoadRunner-and-Performance/Use-Proxy-Recording-in-LoadRunner-11-52-for-Mobile-Applications/ba-p/6152483#.U4ceknft7Sg

“Old recording engine” also was some kind of “proxy recording” with “just in time” script generation and multiple limitations.

Actually the recording method affect the application under test behavior under recording and the “script content” (captured events).It may be difference in the counter on the recording toolbar (that means amount of lines in the recording log ). But all the relevant traffic will be “converted” to API calls.

Once the script is created (disregarding the recording method or just manual coding), the replay depends only on Run-Time settings.

Kind regards,

Re: dwr.engine.remote.handlecallback

When I replay my load runner script I am also seeing the same response:

throw 'allowScriptTagRemoting is false.';
//#DWR-INSERT
//#DWR-REPLY
dwr.engine._remoteHandleCallback('0','0',"{\"result\":true,\"data\":[]}");

I am not getting what the issue is. Please help!
