Not able to record ALM 12.20

I.e. wrapper.java.additional.20=-Dcom.mercury.td.http.authentication=false

In C:\ProgramData\HP\ALM\wrapper\wrapper.conf

 

ALM login page is not displayed i.e. IE is stopped working.

 

Steps followed

  • Configured conf
  • Copy ALM client parameters from Process Explorer
  • Open LR 11.5 or 12.02
  • New script -> Web HTTP/HTML
  • Click start recording – Enter ALM-Client. Exe path in program to record
  • Second value from Process Explorer
  • Select Windows application and Record option -> mapping filtering -> Socket level and winInet level data
  • Click ok
  • Click start recording
  • Started recording it open application
  • Now click on ALM desktop client.

 

Now IE stopped working. (i.e. not responding)

also when i try to record login action in INIT and rest of the actions in ACTION block and replay it ,INIT is executed succesfully and ACTION block asks for user to login again(Flow is not maintained).

 


I can tell you that for the Action block to not get logged out (I had run into the same problem), you will want to go into your runtime settings under Replay and uncheck the "Simulate a new user on each iteration". 

 

As for the other issues, I'm not sure of the fix.  I am encountering similar issues with Javascript evaluation for some of my scripting.  I've read in another thread on here that there seems to be a significant problem with 12.01+ versions and javascript.

You can also use standard web_reg_save_param_ex() correlation functions and C code to do what you are needing to do.

Facing issue with Web Tours Creating Customer Profile

Hi , 

 

I have installed and using LR 12.02 version for Practise purpose .

 

When i have entered all the details to Create  Profile in Web Tours (First Time Registring) , it is showing an error msg :

 

" Your username is taken. Please choose another (usually adding a personally significant number to the end of your username will create a unique name) "

 

Web tours is not taking any data after creation of profile , i also tried to login once but the Profile have not created.

 

 

 

Please find the error attachment and do provide one solution for this.

Hi Mechlowicz,

 

To determine the required number of load generators:

  1. Record a script using your specific protocol.

  2. Replay a single Vuser in Controller and check the average CPU and the peak memory consumption of the mdrv.exe process by adding a counter for % Processor Time and Private Bytes.

  3. Based on your load generator hardware and the CPU and memory consumption of a single Vuser, calculate the number of Vusers per machine.

Hi SreekanthAriker

 

It looks like the username you entered is already available.

Choose another username.

 

Or check your local hard drive.

Browse to your:  C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\LoadRunner\WebTours\cgi-bin\users folder

For every user you created there is a file.

Check if there is a file with the username you entered.

If so, then that is the problem why the error message appears.

Delete the file and try again creating your profile.

 

By the way:

 C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\LoadRunner\ is the install directory on my computer .

Maybe your install directory is different from mine.

To check your install directory start cmd.exe, enter SET and press enter.

Look for LR_DIR in the output on your screen.

 

It is not neccesary to create your own profile.

It is possible to login with these credentials:

User: jojo

pw: bean

 

You can read the tutorial documentation from your local hard drive: file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/HP/LoadRunner/tutorial/Tutorial_html/Default.htm

 

I hope this doesn't stop you from learning Loadrunner.

Hi Jonathan,

 

I am not sure what do you wan´t to achieve.

What do you mean bij ´concurrent´.

Do you mean you wan´t to login with 15 VU right at the same time?

Then use LR_RENDEZVOUS

 

Or do you wan´t to login 15VU with each it´s own username?

Then use the UNIQUE parameter setting instead of the default SEQUENTIAL.

 

There are 3 ways to use testdata from a parameter list:

- Sequential

- Random

- Unique

Hello,

 

After recording a Siebel Web Vuser script, how to a measure the Performance of the SIebel 8.1 Server with loadrunner 12.02?

 

Is there any configuration or any setup to do on Siebel Server to measure its %CPU ... (for example)?

 

Is there any configuration or any setup to do on database Server to measure its %CPU, Number of connection, to request/%CPU ... (for example)?

I am trying to execute Selinium sample scripts in loadrunner and getting error as

You do not have a license for this Vuser type.Please contact HP Software to renew your license.

I am using LR 12.02 trial version, in my license utility it is showing 50 java users free, and i am trying with only 1 user.

Hi,

 

I have an issue in fact with LoadRunner 12.0.2079.0  DisplayName: HP Software Agent for Citrix Presentation Server.

After the MSI is installed on a Windows Server 2008 R2 through SCCM 2012 the application seems to be not working. Apparently the Citrix Admin is not able to communicate with LoadRunner on the server where the MSI was installed.

 

If I display my MSI  log file it will display at the end : MainEngineThread is returning 0

 

So how come the MSI was installed successfully but the communication is not happening. How can I check or test my installation was really successfull locally as I don't have the possibility to have the LoadRunner server side to check unless I ask the Citrix Admins and for that it can take time and obviously there's no more information they provide about the error.

 

The weird thing is if they do a Repair from the Program & Features then the communication works.

 

Is there a switch that I need to include on the silent install?

 

This is the installation string that I'm using on SCCM 2012 >>  msiexec /i "Agent_for_Citrix_Server.msi" /norestart /l*v C:\Logs\HPSoftwareAgent12.01.log

Failed to send/receive JMS message in multiple iterations

Hi All,

 

We have been trying to send/recieve JMS message from the TIBCO queue. One iteration is working fine, but multiple iterations and in controller it is failing to send/receive JMS messages.

 

It is working fine in TIBCO BW as well. Could you please let me know what might be the issue?

TruClient-IE Protocol

I am trying to create a new script using TruClient-IE protocol, however I am unable to create it because of an error message "Could not complete operation. In order to create a new TruClient-IE script you must have IE 9, 10 or 11 installed on your machine"

 

But I have the latest versions of VuGen (12.02) and Internet Explorer (9). Please provide your suggestions.

.net Thick Client Testing +Rabbit MQ Load Testing

Hi,

 

One of our application is a .net thick client and is using Rabbit MQ for sending messages between servers(Cloud based servers).

 

However i am not sure how can i work with Rabbit MQ and also only one insatnce of application can be opened at once.

 

Is it possible to do load testing using Load Runner.

Hello!

 

The overall complexity of this task depends on how good do you know the application and the RabbitMQ internals.

 

I don't see any problem in recording RabbitMQ-based client-server calls, but the built-in VuGen environment filtes would'n help a lot, because at a glance, RabbitMQ implements its own set of classes and interfaces for most of the work,

so including WCF filter is not a solution.

You will want to create a new custom recording filter, add the RabbitMQ.ServiceModel and RabbitMQ.Client DLLs to this filter, and include the corresponding interfaces in the filter. You will need to make some investigation on what to include, I couldn't help here because this framework is new for me.

 

Next, regarding single instance restriction. As soon as you are already using cloud in your solution, I can suggest you to try LG Cloud via MS Azure, it could do.

If the restriction is related to some internal thick client stuff, that would not affect the replay, then running several instances alongside should not cause any issues (because we suppose we extracted only pure RabbitMQ client-server interaction script), but only the way of trial and error would fork here, as for me.

Hi Harpic,

 

We don't femiliar with this problem in VuGen 12.02 nor in other versions.

1. Kindly, make sure that you VuGen installation is not corrupted.

2. Contact us by HP support or by sending feedback (Help->Send Feedback) email that is handled directly by R&D group.

Thanks for your help but i am new to LR and i have worked only on web protocol so far.

 

I have very little clue about this can you tell me how can i define these filters that you are talking about

 

also we dont have LG cloud ms AZURE, is it not possible using LR?

 

Also if possible can you any helpful link which i can refer
