Define the Number of Vusers

Hello EveryBody!!

I recently started using LoadRunner  as a tool to test my different web aplications, however, I havent found the way to define the number of Vusers that I need. so I have some questions that I hope someone can help me to answer them.

Are the same the number of Iterations and the number of Vsuers?

How can I define the number of Vusers  which I start my Test?

Is it possible to add Vuser every so often?

Well, everyone can stand down. I have the solution. The machine where VuGen and BPM was running had all of the appropriate EXEs white listed in Symantec Endpoint Protection; however, SEP is always running in the background as a service, and still decided that VuGen was malware or something like that, and blocked it. It might also have to do with the fact that VuGen launches browsers like IE, Firefox and Chrome as subprocesses under VuGen, only seen in Process Explorer. There are specific VuGen registry entries that have to be changed, but after all of this configuration, the problem is solved. :-)

Is it possible to get individual transaction response times executed for 1 hour from LR Analysis?

Hi All,

One of my client asked me to get the individual response times executed in 1 hour load test since some of the transactions response times were crossed the given SLA. Let's say Place order transaction executed 10K times.Is it possible to get all 10K of same transaction response times form Loadrunner analysis?. As far as I know we can only see min,max,avg,etc.. of aggregated results. Could you please lt me know if any one knows this.

Hello,

LoadRunner 11.x is no longer supported. Please upgrade to at least 11.52, or better yet to 12.02 or 12.50

Please make sure that the SSL level you're using (set either via Run-Time Settings, or by calling web_set_sockets_option within the script) matches that of your application.

Hi ScrumMaster and welcome to the fascinating world of Performance engineering using LoadRunner,

To answer your questions:

1. Iterations are the number of times each action runs a full cycle. Number of Vuser (Virtual users) are the actual users which will execute the script each iteration.

2. You define the number of Vusers when you set the schedule of the scenario in the Controller

3. You can add Vusers during a test run

All the above being said - My 1st and foremost recommendation is you take some time and study the tool before starting to actually work with it. LoadRunner comes with a built in tutorial in the documentation and an in-house application you can create simple scripts and scenarios on. Once you complete the tutorial, I'm sure it will be easier for you to work with LoadRunner.

Hi Prasad,

You can get response time for each transaction execution from RawData of "Average Transaction Response TIme" graph.

To do this,

1. Open "Average Transaction Response TIme" graph

2. Go to "RawData" tab and click "Retrieve Raw Data"

3. After this you can export this data to CSV or XLS file.

i'm using LR 12.5 and when Truclient Script is Run in Controller ,  when error ouucured the controller is not taking the Screenshot , and its not der in LR 12.0 V , Please Help me How to get screenshots in LR12.5 in controller when error Occur, becuase without them its had to find the Fault.

i hav this similar issue as

ScreenShot Issue in LR12.5 Controller

Hi!

In Controller->Design tab select you script and click on "Details" icon. In "Script Information" dialog click "Runtime Settings..." button. In "Run-time Settings for script" dialog select "Miscellaneous" and check "Generate snapshot on error".

Is there a solution to all this? I too suffer from corrupt scripts. And it is driving me crazy!

 

Update: I just found out that when I compare a previous version of my script (v1) (which can be openend) and the current version (v2) of the script (which can not be openend), i see an important difference. In v1 there is a default.xml, while that one is (almost) empty in v2. 

For now: save save save save save save! (and hope for the best)


Failing to record HTTPS web application

Hi

I’m having  some issue in Load Runner V12.02 while recording Chrome Browser

I’m trying to record https web application and its failing to record the requests.

I can see in the recording logs that is failing with error: ‘Negotiate Client -> Proxy SSL Handshake Failed!!!’
I was suggested to verify that Im using same SSl certification in both sides, but Im not sure how to it.

I will apreciate if somone can assist me.

I am using Vugen-11.52 to record web application by using Web-Http\HTML protocol.

When i am recording the application i am getting folllowing response "eIndex was out of range.Must be non-negative and less the size of the collection".

Could you please help me to resolve this problem.

Hi raydejongh,

I would appreciate if you open a support case so we can handle that. We do not have a solution yet since this issue is not reproducible in house in our lab and we didn't succeed reproducing it with any customer either.

If you know how to reproduce it please mention it to the support team
