I just tried to use "LR.userID" in the following command:
window.alert(LR.userId);
but I got the following error message:

So it is still not working ...
Try disabling FIPS through the registry, set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\FipsAlgorithmPolicy\Enabled to 0
If you're a paying customer with a valid SAID, you can get it through the SSO portal. Otherwise i'm aftaid there's no way.
It was already set to 0 (screenshot attached) and I am still seeing same error.

12. 50 and after that 12. 53. there is the same issue. - run as administrator.

When I click on the link it shows "You don't have permission" message.
Should I download 12.53 version from HP site and try to install it over 12.50? Will that overwrite our existing VUD licence?
I'm guessing that you're not a paying customer, which is why you don't have an access to this fix.
In this case the best thing for you would be indeed to upgrade to 12.53.

Is it always necessary to set up an MI Listener and a Monitor-over-firewall machine/setup in case of remote servers (do remote servers always have firewall?)?
Even for example in case when I want to use a simple windows resource graph on a remote server or is it enough to use only a controller machine in this case, and connect to the server directly from there?

the answer to "do remote servers always have a firewall" is dependant on your system architecture.
A system that is distributed between different geographies should have several FWs between its components. In this case, the recommended setup is to use MI Listener and Monitor Over Firewall for your monitoring needs.
You may encounter a situation where a FW rule was created to allow all communication between the controller and the application under test, in which case you don't need MI Listener or MOF, but that is rarely the case.

To understand the issue, could you please provide the console log from Firefox browser?
Open TruClient Firefox, press Ctrl+Shift+J and once the console is opened, copy the content and attach to the post.

The screenshot you shared contains no error that indicates about the communication issue. I guess you didn't hit the save button before taking it. If I am wrong than please ignore
