TruClient IE and IE Compatibility View

$

I have an application that requires the IE Compatibility View setting. On my PC with Vugen 12.03, the application works fine in the IE 11 browser outside of VuGen, when Compatibility View is set. However, when I try to record the application in VuGen TruClient IE, the browser there behaves as though Compatibility View is not set.

How do i set the TruClient IE browser in VuGen to IE Compatibility View?

We are using the Community Edition of LR, and  NV Insight does not seem to be an option.  What is needed to add this?

Our app will only have about 20 to 50 users max at a time, so we did not purchase the enterprise version.  This would also have taken a very long time to go through purchasing.

Thanks for the response!!!

I have checked tServer and URL, both are correct and still facing the same .

I'm very new to this protocol ,so I'm having some doubt please suggest:

1) In rum time setting do I need to make some changes?

2) Is there any parameter we need to declare before reply the script?

Re: How convert TruClient to Web-HTTP/HTML work?

Hi Ola,

You were almost correct in your description. The conversion triggers a replay of TruClient and record of Web (HTTP/HTML) script. While TruClient runs in this mode it reports events to Web (HTTP/HTML) recorder about user actions, parameters, transactions, user defined data points, script actions, user comments and more

The result is an enhanced Web (HTTP/HTML) script in which you can get oriented more easily. You will still require to perform all correlations on your own.

Hello,

TruClient IE does not support compatibiltiy view. TruClient requires at least IE9 standards mode since only starting this version/mode IE expose API's TruClient relies on.

If the applications works in Firefox I suggest using TruClient Firefox instead

Hi,

Please read the blog I shared earlier. It contains all the info you need. You can use NV Insights without additional costs.

thanks for the quick reply, helpful as always. unfortunately the application does not work in the latest version of FireFox, either. is there a way to have TruClient Firefox run an earlier version of Firefox? if not, i'll need to go back to http protocol.

Sorry to disappoint you again. Firefox version cannot be changed for a given LoadRunner version since TruClient has C++ compoanents that are built with Mozilla SDK from that particular Firefox version. Changing the Firefox version will break TruClient as well.

You can use LoadRunner 11.52 (if you still have a copy of it) where TruClient Firefox was built on top of Firefox 8.0.1.

Licensing necessity LoadRunner vs Performance-Center

Hi,

I would like to request assistance based on the following situation:

My company has load-test projects which do not require a relatively high quantity of virtual users for load generation:

upto 70 user for Remote protocols like Citrix and RDP and upto 100 VUs for ODBC(Sql) protocol. In addition, we would like to install the LoadRunner(including controller) on a remote server (even if that means that only one tester may use it at a time)

We do not want to commit the resources for installation, server-hosting(and potential required monitoring) as well as the increased pricing that comes with Peformance Center commercial licensing.

LoadRunner is simpler solution which fits our current needs. However, the licensing prohibits installing LoadRunner on a remote server.

Please advise if there is a means of using LoadRunner on a remote server.

It looks like only part of this is functional in the Community Edition, and it shows that I had a trial version, now expired. There is no longer the option in the VuGen Replay to see the NV Analytics report, even though this option is selected in the replay settings.

Hi,

Could you please advise me!

It is throwing error as "An error occured" when I tried to save the script into the PC from Vugen>ALM.

When i looked at the  log    hp.lr.vugen.log  , I see some of them as i donot have permission .(see the atatched log)

My question is If I donot have permissions, then how I am able to conncet from the Vugen>ALM?

 Thanks,

Hi,

You didn't atach the log file

Try to upload it from My Performance Center instead.

Or try to upload run time files only.

Note that if ALM instance serves PC you should not be using a VuGen version higher than the PC version.

Hi,

In order to see the report in VuGen you have to installer NV Analytics.

Anyway, I agree with you the graph in Analysis is not that easy to understand/present. NV report provides that and much more.

Re: operating system

Hi

The simple answer is "Yes" - as you are working on a non-supported operating system for the SW you are using, you are bound to come across many issues which no one would be able to help you with as they may simply be the result of a non-compatible operating system.

As a rule of thumb - always work as per the pre-requisit instructions. That applies for any SW :-)

Good Luck,

Lior

Hi

As mentioned before, windows 10 support was introduced only in 12.53.

LoadRunner did not support windows 10 prior to that version.

You will need to one of the supported operating systems as per the readme file of your chosen release.

Good Luck,

Lior

If I do a new download/install, can you get the fully updated version with the patch?  Yes, I am using TRUCLIENT web protocol which does support this.   The Community Edition should allow for patches and updates.

On other machine is works OK.
